This is the story of a renovation that breathed new life into an Alpine chalet built in the 1970s at Meribel. Agence Amevet’s interior architects brought all their expertise and creativity to bear in transforming this outmoded chalet that was a poor fit with today’s lifestyles.
After several months’ work, this chalet revealed itself in a new light. Our interior architects totally reorganized the spaces in order to meet its owners’ high expectations of a chalet where they could receive family and friends in a cosy ambience, favourable to reunions.
The chalet sets out to be authentic and contemporary both at once. To escape their weekday urban environment, the owners wanted to rediscover the warmth of natural mountain materials, wood and stone, coupled with metal.
Stylishness and modernity are nonetheless very present in this chalet’s renovation and layouts. Our interior architects did a lot of work on the lighting, which stamps this project with a special identity (for example LED ribbons built into custom-design furniture or installed in the angles of a staircase).
This project also seeks to be contemporary in the layout of its spaces, which offer all the functionality and comfort of a high-class chalet where everyone can appreciate relaxing moments. The chalet guests can be found around the central open fireplace, in the lounge, or sitting at a large, solid-wood table. The kids have a world of their own, in beds reminiscent of shepherds’ huts. The owners are pleased with their master suite, while friends have all the comfort of magnificent bedrooms with ensuite baths. To complete things, the master of the house can share his passion for vintage wines in the cellar that has been laid out.
